Carlson Vitamin D3 provides 10,000 IU (250 mcg) of vitamin D3 as cholecalciferol in a single softgel. Vitamin D3 promotes strong bones, supports immune system health, helps regulate calcium and phosphorus metabolism, and promotes heart health. Research shows that our body produces vitamin D3 following sun exposure, which is why it's often called the "sunshine vitamin," but changing seasons, heavy clothing, and sunscreen can make it difficult to get enough sun. And although it's possible to get vitamin D3 through our diet, few food sources contain enough vitamin D for us to reach the recommended daily intake.
